Spectrum is a brand new dance concept, as created by choreographer Suma Bhattacharya, who has over 20 years’ performing experience.

The cast includes Suma herself, along with Neesha Radia, Parbati Chaudhury, Showmi Das and Emiko Ishii.

The show brings together – for the first time ever – classical North and South Indian dance and Western classical and popular music.

As its name suggests, the show uses the spectrum of the rainbow to explore different themes and moods and emotions, as evoked and conveyed in both dance and music.

Spectrum includes classical Indian dances set to works by Carl Orff, Chopin, Pachabel and Vivaldi, as well as to more contemporary works, such as songs by Lana Del Ray and Sia and the main theme of the film Memoirs of a Geisha. The show also includes elements of flamenco and contemporary dance. It is truly multi-cultural.

Spectrum is being previewed in a one off show at Oxford House Theatre in Bethnal Green, London, E2 at 8.00 PM on Friday 8th July 2016. There’s a dedicated Facebook page for Spectrum at www.facebook.com/spectrumdanceproduction for more information.

Established film company, Little Dude Films will be making a film and trailer of the performance to help promote Spectrum ahead of a planned theatre run or tour.
