The Singing Bowl at York Minster will be an inspired development of the current touring production of Lullaby – The Singing Bowl, which is presenting a contemporary exploration of night-time sounds interspersed with lullabies from India.

The performance at York Minster has a new creative line-up. Supriya Nagarajan (carnatic vocals), Mike McInerney (Japanese Shakuhachi flute) and Kartik Raghunathan (violin) will respond to and play with the unique soundscape that has been created by Duncan Chapman, working with a collection of night sounds from different parts of the globe. The trio will take the audience on a soothing journey to a place of peace and relaxation, centred on traditional Indian lullabies with 21st century musical conversations, improvisations and imaginings.

This is a 50 minute music performance in a relaxed setting.
