With two distinctive new solos, an explosive trio and a multi award-winning dance film,Kamala Devam Company seeks answers to unanswerable questions: Does fate or free will have a greater hand in shaping the course of our lives? How do we define ourselves without limiting our potential? And in a battle against ourselves, who will come out as victor?

Choreographer Kamala Devam has a lifetime of experience in Bharatanatyam (classical South Indian dance) and uses its themes and aesthetics as a springboard for her contemporary dance works.

Ankusha and Other Mysteries is KDC’s first full evening of work, celebrating Kamala’s new works Ankusha and Babushka vs. Renaissance Man, alongside her collaboration with Seeta Patel and Maria Åkesson on the acclaimed dance film The Art of Defining Me, live music by composer Genevieve Crutchfield’s duo Harmony & The Bear, and more!
