The Point is an international hub for the development of artists.  We focus on emerging artists, helping them to reach the next step through structured support, and mid-career artists, offering them the time and space to develop and flourish.

As The Point turns 20 this year we are more committed than ever to support artists and their work as part of our Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation funded Powered by The Point programme.

We are seeking applications for our Associate Artist programme from April 2016 for between 12-24 months. The programme aims to support the creative practice and strategic development of artists and/or companies who are keen to make a step change.

The Associate Artist scheme extends to artists and companies working in a performance context in the following disciplines; theatre, dance, aerial, circus, street theatre, work for children, disability arts and site specific/outdoor work.

Previous Associates have gone on to win Fringe First Awards (Milk Presents), Total Theatre Awards (Two Destination Language) receive commissions including Shift and Share (Joli Vyann) as well as plugging into touring networks across the UK.

“Our company has developed more in 4 months than it did in a whole year before we arrived here. It gives you time and space to make mistakes, take risks, have fun and grow as a company.” – Milk Presents

The Point’s Associate Artists will receive a host of benefits during the programme including dedicated mentoring, organisational advice, networking opportunities and residency periods.

Deadline for applications: Midday on Wednesday 23rd March 2016

Invitation to meet: Monday 11th April 2016
