The Luton Mela is a free event that highlights the best in Asian Performance and visual arts, with a host of local, national and international talent. As well as exceptional entertainment showcasing the culturally diverse communities of the town, the event also features funfair rides for adults and children, a children’s zone with fun activities, arts, crafts, a variety of stalls, an array of food stalls and a firework display finale to mark the event’s 15-year anniversary. Luton Mela attracted over 20,000 people in 2014 and it is hoped that that figure will be matched, or even bettered, in 2015.

Organised by the Luton Mela Group, this year’s celebration is set to deliver another star-studded weekend of free entertainment from around the world. Confirmed performances for 2015 will include Lehmeber Hussainpuri, Signature (Britain’s Got Talent Finalists), Navin Kundra Raghav, Arjun, Nesdi Jones, Punjabi MC, Indi and The Vegas, New Groove Formation, Ryan Prazer and Exit Black, to name but a few.

The event is being supported by London Luton Airport, Lyca Mobile, The Mall Luton, Central Bedfordshire College, BBC Three Counties Radio, Hot Asia Jamz, Army, Panjab Radio, Punjab 2000 Tropical FM, Dallow Learning Community Centre, Magazyn Lokalny The Indie Label, Next Up Local, Majestic Sounds, Culture Unite, Luton at Large, plus many more. This year’s chosen mela charity is Keech Hospice Care, for which the event will be raising money in various ways.

This truly is a not-to-be-missed free event, so remember the Luton Mela 2015 on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 August 2015, starting at 12pm at Wardown Park, Luton.
